DANIEL SANCHEZ
Daniel Sanchez was born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut where he graduated from Holy Cross High School. Daniel attended Fairfield University and Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Finance from the University of Connecticut. After a brief stint in law school, Daniel decided to pursue the family jewelry business while working on an MBA from the University of Connecticut. Daniel was raised in the store, with clients to this day recalling him trying to assist them with their purchases before he could see above the jewelry showcases. In 2005 Daniel officially took over Onyx from his Grandparents, Higinio and Zenaida Perez. Daniel immediately took to making the business his own by elevating the look, service and product offering of the store. Introducing full scale custom design services with consultation, CAD 3D rendering and wax models, helped Daniel broaden the design offerings available in-store and eventually lead him to house a full-scale production facility in New York City. Daniel has always placed an importance on philanthropic involvement within the local community, sponsoring many events such as: The Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation Gala Diamond Raffle, The Waterbury Hospital Gala Diamond Raffle, The Palace Theater, The Mattatuck Museum, The Waterbury Chorale, The Waterbury and Naugatuck YMCA, The Waterbury PAL, as well as many local school auction events, charity golf tournaments and Chamber of Commerce related events. When not at the store, Daniel can be found working on his health and fitness, visiting New York City, or catching up on trends and pop culture.
